Check the TeX newsgroup. Lots of messages in one day. For what? question-
asking! With even the LaTeX book on hand, I still need to collect information
, tricks from that newsgroup to make writing LaTeX document more easily.
Don't get me wrong. I have been using LaTeX for 4 fours and I am sort of
a programmer myself. But I use things like AMI PRO to do daily jobs. Of
course, for math stuffs, I use LaTeX. BUT, one day when there is a more
convinient system than (La)TeX, I will jump out the boat immediately.
To many people, this is a religion problem (Vi, Emacs, TeX,..). To me,
I choose to use whatever is new and useful to me. Editor stuffs are
"utilities" for me and I won't fight for it with my life.

I believe time will go on and things will change and we won't here about
TeX 10 years later. Yup, some people like manual-transmition car for
the house power, but most of the people will choose auto-transmition
for easy daily life.
