In article <2433u1$4ti@organpipe.uug.arizona.edu> you write:

7Mb isn't enough disk space for the root partition. I think it has to
be greater than 10. My root is 10, it seemed to be adiquate before
installing X, but I had to make provisions after installing X, to get
everything to fit.

Did you do a "doinstall /dev/hda1 /dev/hda2 /usr"?
I did it that way, and my /etc/fstab looked like:

/dev/hda1 /root ext2 defaults
/dev/hda2 /root/usr ext2 defaults

When it booted, my second partition wasn't mounted, /root/usr didn't
exist. Try editing fstab, and removing the /root for root, just leave
a single ``/'', and you man need to add the swap entry as well.

/dev/hda3 none swap

and if you want proc, add

/proc /proc proc

you'll also have to mkdir /proc (I believe).

hmm... Not sure, but you might want to edit the rc &/or rc.local, and
remove references to network stuff.

I had to run fdisk, mark my partition active, and also I think it was
necesary to run /etc/lilo/install, after editing /etc/lilo/config.
Worked fine after that.

I still havn't quit mastered LILO, so you're gonna have to rely on
someone else for any specifics about that. Oh, ROOTDEV and BOOTDEV
(sp?) have to be changed to /dev/hda1 and /dev/hda accordingly, *I*
*THINK*.
