Subject: "menu" function does not work...

I have installed the SLS release of linux w/o X windows, and when I
try to run the "menu" command (mentioned at login) I get an error
message that says something like "can't find shared library; use blah
blah".

OK, that was really laughable and I'm sorry I can't be too specific,
but it seems that, in general, a lot of files on the x* series of the
SLS release are pretty critical (for example, for emacs). Anyone know
what they are? And for that matter, does anyone have a trick to figure
out what files a given application/command is looking for?
