Well, disk manufactures give you the size of the disk in MB, which is
10^6 bytes. However, most people are used to looking at MB and
thinking 2^20, not 10^6, hence the confusion. The M in this case is
overloaded to mean both.... Good thing that kB (1000 bytes) and KB
(1024 bytes) are unambiguous. "m" stands for milli, so couldn't be
overloaded quite so easily.
