Subject: Problem with agrep and stat()
Date: 1 Aug 1993 05:13:32 GMT

I recently FTP'ed agrep from the tsx-11 archive. It works great,
except for printing out the following message:

Warning: agrep using old stat() call. Recompile your binary.

I recompiled from the source code, and I still got this message.
(Incidentally, the version I compiled was about 48k, while the binary
from tsx-11 was about 64k.)

At first, I thought the port of agrep on tsx-11 was an older version
than the original at cs.arizona.edu. However, when I checked, both
versions were at 2.04, so this can't be the problem.

Does anyone know what the problem might be? The only thing I can
think of is that I might need to update my kernel. I'm at 0.99pl6;
has the stat() call been improved since then? (I'm also using gcc
2.3.3 and libc.so.4.3.)

Thanks in advance! (-:
