From: rick@ee.uwm.edu (Rick Miller) Subject: Anyone got "sail" working? Date: 30 Apr 1993 17:33:52 GMT
Just for fun, I got tsx-11.mit.edu://pub/linux/sources/usr.games/sail.tar.Z
and tried to compile it.
Apparently, it's just the same "sail" that was posted to comp.sources.games
and it didn't compile.
There were *lots* of warnings about passing argument 2 of signal() to an
incompatible pointer type... but since they were warnings, I ignored them.
It had problems with an undefined "BAD_SIG" in a checking-macro used to
see whether "sail" could be played on the player's terminal. It was only
referenced once, so I changed the conditional to "FALSE" so that you can
always play (I figured this was safe...).
It also didn't like some function called "tstp()" inside a procedure
called "susp()"... I had no idea what it was for, so I commented it out.
I suspect that this last one is what causes the runtime segmentation fault.
Can anyone tell me how to compile this game? (or give me the binary?)
