Subject: [Q] Bad blocks. e2fsck does not mark them!
Date: Wed, 28 Apr 1993 21:36:54 GMT

Hi! I just upgraded to SLS 1.01 (Kernel 0.99.8). No problem with *that*. But,
my AT-Bus HD seems to have some bad blocks in the innermost cylinders.
I get messages like "HD: write_intr: status 0x51, error 0x10". Tried
e2fsck -avt /dev/hda2. The bad blocks are encounted with a message
"HD: read_intr: ...<the same>..." but this message continues
indefinitely so e2fsk gets no change to do its work.
Did I wait not long enough? (half a minute)

It is *not* a problem of the 2nd ext fs. It went very well for weeks with
SLS 0.98 (Kernel 0.99.6).
