I would agree with Bill. I was running a DECstation 5000/200 with
MACH 2.5 at work until this Monday, and the 50 mhz 486 DX with XENIX
would compile faster, and Linux on that box (with an S3 card) beats it
square. Monday I swapped the DEC for a Sparc 10 model 30, color, but
not the super accelerated FB, and it is now comparable to the 486, and
better in the floating point, but I don't do much of that, anyway.
It is really sweet to see OpenWindows on both, as well.
