Subject: SLS installation problem

I got a problem instaling SLS Linux from the outset---the a1 disk. It
boots, shows me SVGA screen modes, agrees to use exception 16 because the
486DX is present, prints out the disk partition information (I tried
different partitions and it reflects the changes), then reads such-and-such
number of bytes into the RAM disk and then... doesn't ask me to insert a2
and doesn't react on the keyboard strokes. The screen saver works,
however, until I press a key. Alt-F2 and Alt-F3 produce empty screens, and
Alt-F1 brings me back to the above jam. I have reproduced a1 with rawrite,
and no change in the behavior. I was following closely the FAQ
instructions: I got OS/2 Boot manager installed and two more primary
partitions (done with OS/2 fdisk): one for DOS (1M) and one for Linux
(95M). In addition, I have an extended partition holding another logical
drive for DOS (97M) and a swap (8M) for Linux. Any idea as to what the
hell may cause my problem? Many thanks in advance for a patient reply to a
newbie.
