Might I suggest one book on the insides called "The Linux Book" or
"Inside Linux" which would have Linus as one of the authors (though
he should be spared the actual writing). Might I further suggest
that you give him a hefty advance, including (but not limited too)
donating to him a second PC with SCSI and a big disk and a sound card
plus 2 ethernet cards. This will ensure that the networking gets
shaken out quickly.
