It takes a couple of things - a reboot a day to clear hung sockets, which
slowly take up file slots and a sensible rlimit. Getting decent performance
also includes using a smaller shell than bash (vomit). If we had a small
C compiler then then world would be a happy place indeed. As it is its
down to software choice. GCC isnt the most computer friendly compiler
on planet earth.
Once the socket stuff is fixed properly the daily reboot should become
unneccessary too.
