Subject: QUESTION: Linux and DTC 3280AS SCSI controller - Any Ideas?
Date: 25 Apr 1993 17:35:49 GMT
Hello Linuxers everywhere!.
I'm borrowin a friends account to do this so could you direct all replies to me
at sjm@fss.icl.co.uk Thanx ;-)
I'm running Linux on a 386/7-SX-25 combination at the moment and have just managed
to lay my hands on a 486DX-25 Motherboard and a DTC 3280AS SCSI Controller 382Mb Hdd +
Tandberg Data (IBM rebadged job) QIC-150 Tape Streamer.
My cunning plan is to run Linux on the 486 with the SCSI and windows3.1/dos on the
386 (I do Like word 2 and some of the PC games these days are Stunning - please
forgive me.)
However Linux (0.99Pl6) doesnt recognise the controller (well it was worth a try)
so what I'm wondering is if anyone out there has a device driver that I can use or
alternatively has any docs on the controller card so I can set too porting/writing a
SCSI driver for it. Tho its going to be fun - writing device drivers in the day to
fund myself writing device drivers at night????
As a last resort does anybody have an E-mail address for tech Support for the firm
their snail address is:
Data technology Corporation
1515 Centre Pointe Drive
Milpitas
California.
Thanx in advance ...
Simon McKenna
