I'll post this for the benefit of newbies. With my last question, I got about
a dozen responses. The ratio of favor to unfoavor is 12:0! All the responses
mentioned that Linux is very fast on a 486 machine. X will be as fast as the
video card you have, but most cards won't be too shabby...
What impressed me the most is that Linux with X seem to be as fast or faster
than a Sparc2 running SunOS! Wow! Considering a Sparc2 costs perhaps twice
as much(or more).
So, I am sold on this OS, now come the hard part, the money...=)
