Hi,
I have a laptop that is currently running Linux right now. The kernel level is
0.99p8A. I'm interested in increasing the memory it has by using a PCMCIA DRAM
card since it would be much cheaper than using the manufacturer's DRAM module.
But before I got off and get one, does anyone know if Linux is compatible with
the PCMCIA memory modules? Also I was thinking of getting a PCMCIA modem or an
ethernet card. From what I heard, the computer has to run a program to
configure the modem/ethernet card when the card is inserted since all cards are
treated as memory modules initially. So what does this mean to me if I'm using
Linux? Thanks in advance.
