Subject: [Q]: How do I set up uptime, top, and ps correctly?

Hi,

I recently set up Linux on my computer at home (SLS 1.01, kernel 0.99pl8A). I
did the complete installation with X and everything. I am, however, having
trouble with the operations that deal with system processes. I think it has to
do with the way my /proc procedure is setup. Basically, for some reason, my
fstab was setup so it contained a whole bunch of invalid entries (there was all
sorts of SCSI devices and no IME devices--and I don't have any SCSI on my
computer; I think this was Peter's fstab). So I rewrote the fstab. When I ran
ps, it complained and told me to add a line that looks like (I don't quite
remember off hand right now) /proc /proc proc defaults in my fstab. I did that,
rebooted, and it still didn't work. I'm not too familiar with how these
commands work. I would really appreciate it, if someone could tell me how I
should fix this. Thanks in advance.
