I'm having some difficulty getting linux to recognize my tape drive.
The situation is thus:

(386DX/40) Adaptek 1542B --> Wangtek 5150ES --> Maxtor SCSI disk

The board and the disk drive are terminated, and the 5150 is not. I have
no problems with the disk, it's just that the tape drive is not detected
and cannot be accessed. (tar -tvf /dev/rmt0 gives a "cannot open /dev/rmt0:
bad file number" error). I suspect a device numbering problem, but haven't
any idea how to remedy it.

If you are successfully using a 5150ES with linux (I'm at 0.99p6), could
you please give me some idea how you made it work? (ie. jumper settings)

thanks,
pat
