I've seen stale lockfiles left around when uucico dumps core, which I've
been seeing since I changed to pl8. Occasionally uucico ends with a
"Whoops, unable to handle Kernel paging request" or something similar and
dumps core, leaving a lockfile. I hadn't seen this for several
patchlevels until now. :-(
However, the stale lockfiles are always removed by the next invocation of
uucico. I never have to do anything by hand ...
