Sorry, didn't know if this is a Linux-version specific question about
UUCP or not, so I decided to ask it here.
I've read Unix Communications by the Waite Group and haven't been able
to figure out my problem. I also read the FAQ posted a day or two ago about
Linux and UUCP. I hope I didn't miss any crucial information in either of
these two places.
I set up /usr/lib/uucp/Systems,Permissions correctly (or so I think)
but I can't get system to dial out. It says there is "No Matching Port"
or something very similar. I've tried several incantations of the
Systems file using /dev/modem, modem, ttyS1, /dev/ttyS1 and none
seem to work. When i do uuchk, the information (as I can recall) seems
correct.
However, I have seen mention in the Linux man pages for UUCP, uucico, etc
of /usr/lib/uucp/config and /usr/lib/uucp/password.... I don't see those files
present in my SLS package of UUCP. Are they really there and I need to look again,
or am i missing them , or are they not needed? I have no idea of what format
is necessary if it is needed.
Thanks for your help
