I had tha problem too with the 0.98 pl 5 SLSL release... You should see a
message flashing by on your screen 'Named: no nameserver for class 1'. I.e:
there's problem with your nameserver. However, since I upgraded to the new
0.99 pl 5 SLS release I didn't have any problems. Even after changing the
name of the machine (which is quite a pain).

If you DO change the name of your machine (probably adding other local machines)
be very sure to follow instruction in lxnet.faq which is in /etc/inet, or,
with the newer release, in hosts.

Hope this helps....
