Subject: ProDesigner II - Xconfig please?

Hi,

I have the joy of experimenting with Linux on a cheapo 386 clone
(Compusys 386/33Mhz 16Mb + 400Mb disk, Orchid ProDesigner II v5.1)
and am currently having fun and games with the mouse.

I can start up X OK, but if I exit (Ctrl-Alt-Bkspc) or swap to another
VC, the screen goes haywire (ie: looks like it's still in gfx mode -
text blurred diagonally over several scan lines, and scrolling like
crazy.

If this a common/easy to recognise/easy to solve problem ?
