  hi

  I've recently installed Linux 0.99p8 (SLS 1.0 + upgrade to .99.8 kernel)on
my 486 and everything is ok except 3 little boring problems:
1/ I can't find the pwd command anywhere
I've created an 'alias pwd = cat /proc/self/cwd' or something like that but
I'm curious: why can't I find pwd ??? is it normal (it don't seems to be)
2/ When i run a 'man something' I always get the following message
     Couldn't stat file
Couldn't stat file (yes two times)
and then the requested man page appears. Why ??
3/ I'd accidentally deleted my whatis database and makewhatis don's seems to
     work ... How can I do ?

thanks to take the time to answer
