Well at the *very* least you could try using pseudocode, or if you HAVE
to draw boxes there are plenty of structured flowcharting mechanisms. Or
you could use Yourdon-Orr diagrams.

Personally, I draw boxes when I'm figuring out the data flow on a system,
but using boxes for control flow just obscures things. There *are* lots of
better tools out there.
