Subject: can't print postscript files on my epson

I tried following the directions posted here, such as:

gs -sDEVICE=epson -sOutputFile=/dev/lp1 myfile.ps

and I got:

Initializing... Unknown device: epson

What am I missing? How do I tell gs about my epson device, or am I missing
something? I have SLS, but re-compiled gs/ghostview 'cause it didn't work at
all.
