This is very much a newbie question, so i would love some easy-to-follow
newbie type directions ;)
when i type in 'telnet localhost' Linux responds with:
localhost: Host name lookup failure
i have also tried 'telnet 127.0.0.1' resulting in:
telnet: tcp/telnet: unkown service
i am running linux 0.99p6 on a 386-40 pc with no ethernet card or any other
connection to the outside world (except my wonderful modem ;). i know
very little/nothing about tcp stuf (although I would sure love to know more..)
so directions on what to do or where to look for hints would be really
really helpful.
