Subject: How to by-pass OS virtual memory manager?
Date: Mon, 19 Apr 1993 17:14:44 GMT

In ObjectStore's User Guide, it says "When data referenced by the application
is not in main memory, a page fault occurs. ObjectStore automatically
intercepts it, and dynamically pages the referenced data from the
ObjectStore database into virtual memory." I am puzzled by this statement.

So, my first question is how can ObjectStore intercept the page-faults.
The second question is how can ObjectStore do paging without interference
to regular paging of UNIX?

Thanks a lot.
