I had a similiar problem under Windows, when using TrueColor
in 800x600 (ATI Ultra Pro VLB). The Manual says that I can
only use up to 70 Hz refresh rate in TrueColor, even with VRAM.
So I guess your refresh rate is to high for the ATI
