Subject: Configuring Serial Ports From: cs416530@lux.latrobe.edu.au (Matthew I Gillard) Date: Sun, 11 Apr 1993 13:10:08 GMT
I have just recently installed linux (SLS 0.99pl6) on my 386-25, and
have come across a problem related to serial ports. I am trying to
access my COM2 via the communications program xcomm. From reading the
FAQ I see that COM1 ... COM4 are devices /dev/ttys1 .. /dev/ttys4
respectively, but only ttys3 seems to be in my /dev directory. Does
anyone know how to create a /dev/ttys2 so I can access my modem??
Please reply via e-mail if possible, (I'll post a summary..)
Thanks,
Matthew Gillard.
