I've read the faq, and tried what it says. I have a device
/dev/bmouseatixl with major number 10 and minor 3.
When I boot, I get a message "ATI inport bus mouse detected
and installed". In my Xconfig, I have Microsoft "/dev/bmouseatixl".
When I start X, any mouse movement causes the cursor to fly
around uncontrollably, and the system also thinks that buttons
are being pushed, when there are none.
Ive tried various combinations of things without success.
One more strange thing. I had a serial 3 button mouse, which
has a 2/3 selector switch on the side. The only way I could get
it to work is to select the 2 position. In the 3 position, the
symptoms are similar to the busmouse (maniacal cursor).
I am running the TAMU 99p4 distribution. Any
help will be greatly appreciated.
