I've recently finished the install of gzip onto my 99pl6 system.
Thereafter, my man command does not always bring up the man page its
supposed to. It gives one of those "file not found" messages and then more
(or less?) displays a nothing-file. The items I'm looking up in the manual
are .Z files that obviously need a decompression program to look at.
What's gone wrong to prevent these files from being recognized? Is it time
for a re-install? I half-expect to, as the stream of upgrades have filled
my HD, and it would be nice to repartition.
What's up with the broken man?
