Well, this should not be the case, I installed X8514 last week and I don't have
lib[cm].so.2.2, nor did it ask for them. So lets ask the dumb questions --
You are running an up to date version of Linux, right ..?
Did you start with an installation of Xfree86?
and lastly ...
Do you have the correct version of Xlinux8514? -- like the ones from
sunsite or tsx-11 ?

I started with a working Xfree86-1.2 (under linux 0.99pl?) and linked
Xlinux8514 to X and every thing worked fine.
