I'm having problems with installing an extended file system. I read
the FAQ and installation parts and couldn't find the answer. I want
to setup 140 MB for DOS (/dev/hda1) and 100 MB for LINUX. Of this I
setup 8 MB for swap (/dev/hda2) and the remainder for /dev/hda3.

I partitioned the disk and set 140 MB for DOS. I used the a1 disk to
boot LINUX and then used fdisk off the a2 disk to set LINUX partitions.
Now I setup the proper hex code for the filesystems and am able
to mkswap without any problem, when I try mke2fs /dev/hda3 <blocks>,
where blocks is as returned by fdisk, I get "OUT OF MEMORY" followed
by KILLED.

This happens even when I up the swap space to 12 MB or more.

Has anybody seen this before ? If they have been successful in solving
this problem, please send me email.

Thanks.
Vijay.
