I'm new to Linux and this could be a FAQ for all I know so please don't flame
me if it is but:

Are there drivers for Western Digital Accelerator cards? They have the
WD90C31 chipset, the same one as a Diamond Speedstar 24X. This card works
fine under OS/2 2.1b in SVGA modes, but OS/2 does not take advantage of its
accelerated features. Would it be the same way running X with Linux?

Also, my roomate has an Orchid Fahrenheit VLB in his 486/33 local bus.
This card is a screamer and it uses the S3 805 chipset. I've heard some hype
about S3 support for linux, so if anyone knows if this card will work with
Linux on his machine, He'd like to know. He also has an Adaptec 1542B SCSI
controller, in case it matters or if there are any noteworthy hints he should
know before he "makes room" on his gig hard drive before he installs it.

An E-mail response would be great since I normally don't read this group.

Thanks,
