Subject: Still keyboard problems in X under 0.998alpha

I have the following problem (I think quite a time, regularyly updating
my kernel):

Hitting PgUp or PgDn too quickly in vi in an xterm results in vi being
stopped without restoring the screen and a message saying (approximately):
/usr/preserve/Index:not found
The problem occurs only on going up or down too quickly, OR when a sync
happens to happen at the time of hitting the PgDn-key, so it's not a
keybinding-problem, but appears to be timing related.

It appears, this had become better with the 0.99p8 alpha release, but
has not yet dissapeared altogether.

Under say xedit, I can press PgUp/PgDn as quickly as I like without
provoking an exit.

I use XFree86-1.2, and the newest (4.3.2i) shared libraries.
