Subject: XS3 - refresh and stripes trouble!
Date: Mon, 5 Apr 1993 07:40:47 GMT

I'm running Linux since December and mostly had no serious problems so far.
Well, there was the Stealth ...

Now I have a Fahrenheit VLB running with an Orchid Superboard 486DX2/66.
Installing XS3 was no major problem, and it starts all right. But then
two nasty little problems appeared.
   1) When I choose a pixel-freq. greater than 65MHz i get stripes running
up and down on the right side of a window while I scroll text or
move or resize windows. The mode I am talking about is 1024x768x256.
I don't have a problem with 70+ MHz in OS/2 or Windoze or VPIC or...

   2) When I open a menu (in olvwm, it's the only window manager I run),
it stays on the screen, and disappears only, if something is displayed
on top of it, or if I choose refresh from the screen menu. I had the
problem solved already, although I don't know how I did it, but when
I installed a new XConfig I accidentally destroyed my old one and
there the problem was again. I tried everythhing whit the new XConfig
but nothing worked. I had the same problem with OS/2 for a while, then
      mysteriously disappeared too.

Everything else works fine. I am using Linux 99pl7A, but I had the same problems with pl7.

Thanks...
