[[PLEASE NOTE: I DID TRY TO RESOLVE THIS ON THE LOCAL LEVEL FIRST]]
                 ^^^
Hello. I am trying to run Linux 0.99pl6 on my Toshiba T4400SXC with
486DX-25 chip in it, and am running into video mode problems. When I boot
up from my boot disk (the one created by doinstall), it goes into 80x40
mode while leaving me in 80x25 mode. That is, Linux thinks I have 40 cols
when I really have 25. In my termcap, under console|con80x25|dumb there IS
a li#25 entry, but it does not seem to be doing anything. My $TERM is set
to console.

However, about 4 times (out of about 100) it has booted into 80x50 mode,
and the text on my screen has actually switched.

I have tried a "LINES=25; export LINES" but it only works for a few
programs (like elm/vi/emacs), and not the shell and other programs. Any
help would be greatly appreciated, as I have been trying for a week or so
to get this resolved on the local level to no avail. Thanks In advance.

Also, has anybody out there run Linux on a T4400SXC before? If so, could
you suggest settings for Xwindows? Thanks again.
