I am using xdtm under linux. I have the xdtm library, this gives me color
icons. The icons that came with xdtm are somewhat dull. On the other hand,
there are plenty neat icons under window$. So I wrote a little converter
from win .ico format to X pixmap format. Looks good so far, but I do not know
the complete .ico format spec, so I have to polish every pixmap file by
hand :-(

Has somebody already written a complete converter. Am I wasting my time?

Does anybody have a complete description of the .ico format?

If there is any interest in this or xdtm, I am willing to post/mail
the fruits of this work.
