Subject: [Q] Simple way to get X libraries with debugging symbols?
Date: Fri, 2 Apr 1993 06:01:10 GMT

A cohort and I are needing to debug an obscure problem with an X based
program. He wondered if we could compile the X libraries with source
debugging symbols turned on. I foolishly said "Sure, it's Linux, we
can get the source!". Now, i'm not so sure. The way I RTF[MF], we start
with the MIT distribution, run XFree86 patches, etc (or something like
that). It might be easier to just debug *our* program. :-)

The question is, does someone know of a simpler way to get the sources
to just the libraries? Or, perhaps, a copy of the libraries with symbols
turned on? (I'm not scared of the MIT distribution... it's just that my
Internet access is Long-Distance (pay-by-the-minute) 14.4Kbps).

Thanks!
