My guess is that you're using /dev/ttyS* instead of /dev/cua*.
You might get more info if you would start uucico with the -x chat
option and have a look at /usr/spool/uucp/.Admin/audit.local afterwards.

I didn't see the original posts, but may be people are are a little
tired of asking for the additional info like the versions of your
kernel etc. So your post will simply be ignored.
