I have had no luck with my modem either. It's a Gateway 14,400
fax/modem and works fine under ms-windows (as well as things work
on ms-windows) but I can't make it do anything at all under linux.
I have tried everything that can be tried from within kermit.
From experimenting under windows, I know my modem can pretend it is
a hayes 2400 baud modem. It seems to me that kermit is not talking
to the modem at all for some reason.

Could someone suggest a way for me to determine if my modem is listening
to kermit at all?

Thanks in advance!
Have a great day!
