I use LILO 0.9, and I've had no problems setting up a system that starts
up with a prompt where I can type "dos" or "linux". If I type nothing for
15 seconds, it automatically starts Linux. What I especially like is that
I didn't have to mess with the Master Boot Sector to set this up. The
Linux partition is active, but I can go into DOS by typing "dos" at the
prompt. Read the documentation -- it's all in there. LILO is great
(although I wish it could handle boot images that reside above the 1024th
cylinder).
