Subject: inetd hangs?
Date: Thu, 1 Apr 1993 18:41:57 GMT

From time to time my inetd seems to hang, I cannot log on any more with
telnet or ftp. The system is still running and old telnet sessions are
working, too.

from a Sun I see:

$ telnet dontpanic
Trying 134.60.204.150...
Connected to 134.60.204.150.
Escape character is '^]'.

and now it hangs... no response at all. I have to kill the session on the
Sun.

When I kill the inetd on Linux and restart it, telnet and ftp work again.
This bug happens abbout 2-3 times a week.

Any Idea what happens and what I can do against it?

I'm running Linux .99pl6

thanx - Frams.
