From: jbettis@cse.unl.edu (Jeremy Bettis) Subject: Date command only uses GMT Date: 1 Apr 1993 03:05:45 GMT
I have been unable to get the date command to display the correct timezone.
I edited the /etc/login.defs file and set the ENV_TZ variable. Now TZ is set
to CST6CDT like it ought to be but date still prints out GMT, if I change TZ
while logged in, date still prints GMT. It is local time, but reported as
GMT. I am running .99pl6 of SLS 7 Mar 93. I have not seen any mention of
this problem with the date command in the last month in this newsgroup. Now
I could live with an incorrect timezone on my system, but I don't think that
USENET news can.
