Not true. I got Lotus 123 for the Sun at the USC bookstore
for $135.

Lotus ships 123 for all major Unix platforms. Ditto for Wordperfect.

If they can be convinced (a) that the installed base of Linux is
large and (b) that there is nontrivial binary compatibility across
OS changes then they will port applications. The same holds for
the GNU OS and BSD.
