I don't have a definite answer but I figured I should jump into the
discussion. I work for SSC. We publish pocket-sized reference cards for
UNIX, C, ... I have Linux up and running and am very pleased with what I
see.

I don't have an official endorsement here but I think we could get Linux
at least mentioned in our catalog with a pointer of where to get it. We
have just agreed to point people to FSF and this seems similar.

The catalog comes out twice a year and goes to about 20,000 people on our
mailing list plus at least 10,000 other people that we get from various
lists. Thus, it is a fairly wide distribution and virtually everyone
receiving the catalog is a UNIX person. The exceptions are usually MS-DOS
people who can probably spell UNIX.

As 1.0 gets closer there may be a better definition (from both ends) of
what needs to be done. If, for example, there is someone selling the
distribution in some reasonable form and we could cover our costs of
taking their money, handling credit cards, etc, it is possible that we
would be willing to either resell the package or have the company that put
it together drop ship it.

Our next catalog will get put together in December for January mailing.
Hopefully the "right answer" will be more obvious by then.
