Sure crosspostings are a big problem (especially when it generates
a big thread). But, splitting has a big advantage:
you don't have to sort out what interests you.
This is even true if you read all the groups: some groups
can be read much faster (cause you know there aren't that many
interesting posts in it), ....
and you are less likely to miss an article cause it is likely to be
in a group you read entirely !
