Subject: I need help installing Linux via the SLS?
Date: 30 Sep 1992 02:31:47 GMT

I am installing Linux by using the SLS system and have made it through
disk 4. Before I go on, I would like to set my system up so that it will
boot from the hard drive instead of the floppy.

I have tried doing what the menu system told me to do in the file /etc/readme.
shoelace and my system was hosed (my partition tables got screwed). Also, I
read in the FAQ that I could just type "make" to install shoelace on the HD,
but I do not have a makefile anywhere.

What do I do now?

My complex environment is:

1M partition for OS/2's Boot Manager
40M partition for Linux
15M partition for DOS 5.0
In extended partition are:
30M partition for OS/2
the remaining 30 odd Meg is a data disk.

Thanks
