Subject: Upgrading serial ports

I want to add two (or more) serial ports to my Linux box, and I have a
few questions:

        o Can I just add two more serial ports and have
          Linux recognize and use them? My current ports
          are 16450 and I want to add 16550As.

        o What is the AST FourPort? Does it add four more
          ports in addition to the two I already have?

        o Does anyone have any suggested brands and suppliers?
          I made a quick trip to both Fry's and Comp USA
          earlier today; Fry's had nothing with 16550A's
          in it, and Comp USA had exactly one left. I wanted
          to check here before buying it. I looked through
          a recent issue of PC Magazine, and didn't find
          any there either.
