A couple of things:
1) Are you using the beta x11v2.0 that orest put up about a week ago??
If not, then the trident won't work no matter what you do.
2) Are you specifying a chipset in Xconfig?
If I remember correctly, don't do this, as X will find the card
on its own and can't seem to find it with the chipset specified.
If you can't get it to work, follow up, and I will post my Xconfig for
trident cards, as it works fine with my trident 8900c with 1M ram.
