Subject: selection-1.2 working under linux0.97.6: my 'strange' experiences
Date: 29 Sep 1992 19:07:54 GMT

I download the cut and paste utility from the patches dir on
sunsite. It is called selection-1.2. After uncompress/untar, I read
in the README that this patch and accompanying program has been
around since 0.96c. Furthermore, recompiling after making the patch
ends with gcc barfing on the file tty-io.c (I think that's it.).

Now here's the wierd part. There is a test program in the package.
In mouse.c, I specified that I have a Microsoft serial mouse, which
isn't true because I have a Logitech Mouse Man. There was no option
for Mouse Man. Please also note that when I boot 0.97.6 the kernel
says that I have a Microsoft Bus mouse (strange:). Well, if i compile
test-mouse and run it, the test works GREAT!!!!!! But after exiting
the test, if I try and rerun it, the computer loses track of the mouse
and draws those astericks all over the screen. I've tried all4 possibilites
of mice. None work consistently.

Would anyone hapen to have a suggestion??
Thanx in advance.

see ya
