I skipped by this article in an attempt to restrain myself, but I just HAD to
say something, I've been lurking on this newsgroup for some time now, and I
wanted to say for the most part I appreciate the deeply felt feelings that
some people have for their work. However this blast was just too much. Nick,
why is TeX so important to you that you had to jump all over Mr. Badger? It's
people like you who give unix a bad name, there is a place for TeX, just like
there is a place for all sorts of applications. The majority of people I know
don't want to spend "a little effort" to produce a document, they want their
ideas to look good, in a short amount of time. For these 'brain dead' people
(your words), WordPerfect and the ilk are just fine. However, I would dare say
that TeX does not produce better output than say Quark Xpress, or FrameMaker,
and I reckon, I can produce that page must faster than you can with TeX. That
gives me more time to have a beer.

Hey, please all flames to my mail box so that I may delete them, and not take
up too much time here.

Looking forward to the release of Linux, as I'm very interested, just don't
have the time to dedicate too it.
